Who may anoint

ELDERS OF THE CHURCH 

"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." (James 5:14)

REPENTANT SINNERS

“And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at his feet behind him weeping; and she began to wash his feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed his feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.” (Luke 7:37-38)

EVERY DISCIPLE OF JESUS

"And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them." (Mark 6:13)

AS BELIEVERS, WE MAY EVEN ANOINT OURSELVES!

“So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshipped.” (2 Samuel 12:20)
