Ingredients

Our BIBLICAL ANOINTING OIL is made using six sacred biblical ingredients – Frankincense, Myrrh, Spikenard, Hyssop, Cedar and virgin Olive oil. We believe that each of these sacred ingredients are highly significant in their own right and we believe that God has led us to include them in our anointing oil for a very special purpose.

FRANKINCENSE

This was one of the principal ingredients of the Holy incense used in the sanctuary in Bible times. It was also given to the Christ child as a gift. It speaks to us of the majesty and kingly rule of our Saviour, Jesus.

MYRRH

This was another principal ingredient of the Holy incense used in the sanctuary and was also given to the Christ child. Queen Esther bathed in oil of Myrrh for six months before being presented to the King. Myrrh speaks to us of divine preparation. Myrrh was also used in Bible times to anoint a body prior to burial. It therefore also speaks to us of the death to self in the life of a believer.

SPIKENARD

This was the precious fragrance used by Mary of Bethany to anoint Jesus. It speaks to us of costly and extravagant love for God.

HYSSOP

Hyssop was an important ingredient used in Bible times in the ceremonial cleansing of people and places. Hyssop speaks to us of cleansing, restoration and re-dedication.

CEDAR

Like Hyssop, Cedar was also used in ceremonial cleansing. In addition, it was also used extensively in the construction of the Temple and so it speaks to us of holiness and inner strength.

OLIVE OIL

All the above ingredients are carefully blended together in precise amounts and are then added to a base of extra-virgin Olive oil. Olive Oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit and it speaks to us of the work and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We believe that the combination of ingredients used in our anointing oil has resulted in a unique and pleasant-smelling fragrance. We want you to know however, that it was never our intention to make an anointing oil with a fragrance simply for people to enjoy. Our aim was to create a true BIBLICAL ANOINTING OIL, using ancient and historically correct ingredients - and to make it available to the Body of Christ.
